About Away Marketing
Away Marketing is a Gilbert, Arizona-based web design and marketing firm founded by me, Aaron Charlton, in 2007. Prior to becoming a web designer, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and served for four years as a U.S. Army officer, with deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq.
When I got out of the Army, I had some business ideas that I wanted to launch on the internet, so I trained myself in graphic design and HTML coding. A few small business owners that I was acquainted with saw that I had a knack for it, so they started asking me to do their websites. My first such site was my brother's (Arboreal). After building it, my brother and I quickly realized that it didn't make any sense to have an awesome website that no one ever saw. To overcome this problem, and with his help, I started to research and test different systems of driving traffic to the site.
His website soon began to generate as many leads as he could handle, and he actually ended up spending less on marketing than he ever had before. From there, I have continued to apply and refine the same principles for other companies, and it has brought them similar success.
In my spare time, I train and compete on both cross-country and road bikes. Feel free to check out my racing blog if you get a chance. Thank you for your time and your interest. I look forward to hearing from you.
Very Respectfully,
Aaron Charlton
